The Uffizi is a renowned art gallery in Florence, ranked among the top four art galleries in the world.

The Accademia Gallery is a museum that attracts visitors primarily for its seven sculptures by Michelangelo, especially the famous statue of David.

What to expect during the tour

In the Uffizi Gallery, within 2 hours, we will see the best paintings by the brilliant artists of the Italian Renaissance: Cimabue, Giotto, Filippo Lippi (Botticelli’s teachers), Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo’s only painting, early Raphael, Parmigianino, Pontormo, portraits by Bronzino; the collection of Venetian artists: Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese, and we will finish with Caravaggio and the Flemish school – paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Van Dyck.

What will be the itinerary of our tour

We will walk through the corridors of the sculpture exhibition, discuss the history of the museum and its unique collection. We will start with the “grotesque” style and continue with early Renaissance paintings by Cimabue, and then focus on Giotto – the artist who revolutionized painting. We will move from room to room, observing how Giotto’s style evolved. In the room dedicated to Filippo Lippi, we will talk about the artist’s work and the invention of linear perspective. In the Botticelli rooms, we will view the famous “Birth of Venus,” “Primavera,” and other works, and then, in the rooms of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo, we will explore the creations of these geniuses. The Renaissance will be contrasted by the works of Caravaggio and his followers. The beautiful conclusion will be Flemish painting, featuring portraits by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Van Dyck.

After a 10-minute walk, we will enter another temple of art – the Accademia Gallery, where we will see the only “moving” statue in Florence, and then the collection of antique musical instruments (violins and cellos by Guarneri, Amati, and Stradivari, the first piano), once owned by the Grand Dukes of the Medici. The highlight will be visiting the room that houses 7 sculptures by the great Michelangelo: the Four Slaves, St. Matthew, the Pietà, and the magnificent David!
