Gastronomic Tour from Rome to Tuscany. Wine and cheese tasting in Chianti.

The offer of a tasting tour in Tuscany in the Chianti area, developed by me, is a trip to the wine paradise, where, enjoying the views of endless hectares of vineyards, we will get acquainted with the technique of wine production and taste many different varieties of this divine nectar together with delicious snacks of local cuisine.

What to expect during the tour

Chianti is a small mountain range between Florence, Siena and Arezzo. The Chianti hills have long been known for their vineyards and the production of some of the best wines in the world. The origin of the name Chianti may be related to the Etruscan term “clante”, which means water. And indeed, this area is rich in underground water, which contributes to the cultivation of various grape varieties.

What will be the itinerary of our tour

To ensure that the Chianti tour leaves you with unforgettable impressions, I have planned three different stops at the region’s most renowned wineries.

The first stop is at an ancient winery owned by a Tuscan noble family. Here, we’ll learn about the history of this noble family, visit their residence, and hear from the owners themselves about the winemaking process and how the techniques have been carefully passed down through generations. We’ll taste three types of wine and authentic local olive oil.

The next stop will be at a winery near the city of Siena, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy nine different types of wine from various regions of Tuscany (Chianti, Brunello, Carmignano, etc.). The wide variety of wines is due to the fact that the owners possess extensive lands throughout Tuscany. Here, we’ll taste olive oil with a spicy pepper and white truffle, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the authentic 30-year-aged balsamic vinegar. We’ll also enjoy a selection of “Tuscan appetizers.”

The final stop will be at an ancient medieval monastery where monks have been producing wine since the 13th century. The devout monks will personally serve us wine in their monastery’s wine cellar.
